I’ve been an English teacher and professional trainer in companies in France for 22 years, in a wide variety of fields: graphic design, investment banking, automobile, luxury sales, as well as various areas of tech such as Product Owner, UX/UI, Agile…
Every day I get French people telling me that they are incapable of communicating in English. I respond that they were not offered the tools that would have helped them to make faster and more efficient progress in English.
Over my 20+ years of working with my students, I have developed my own method combining oral comprehension, written expression, and oral expression. It's a very thorough method which have I seen to be effective even with beginner-level students. It’s not complicated and it’s something everyone can do with the help of Youtube!
If you're looking for a new way to help your students experience breakthroughs in oral expression, this is the talk for you!
I was an American student who learned French at school in the United States, and I absolutely loved it because my teacher made it into a journey of fun discoveries! Why isn’t it fun to learn English in France?, is the question I ask myself every day. I graduated from St. Lawrence University (Canton, NY, USA) in 2000 with a BA in British and American Literature. The following year I moved to France, and my husband and I have three teenage daughters who we have raised to be bilingual. Over the 20+ years of my career I’ve helped students ranging in age from 2 to 82 in schools, homes, and a wide range of businesses. (IT, luxury sales, aeronautics, and more) I’m very familiar with the pitfalls which hold captive many a French person with the idea that “I'm an idiot in English”. I’m passionate about showing my students, by using simple exercises, that they can excel in English, and it’s not as hard as they used to believe!
