In this session, I’ll share my firsthand experience of using ChatGPT to assess secondary student emails, exploring both its potential and its pitfalls. How well does AI handle grading? Can it provide fair and useful feedback? And, most importantly, does it really make the assessment process easier for teachers?

Mario Lecluyze is a seasoned English language teacher, with almost 40 years of experience. He teaches English as a Foreign Language (EFL) to secondary students. Lecluyze also worked as a teacher trainer and lecturer at VIVES University College in Torhout, focusing on English teaching methodology and CLIL practices. He also served as an adviser for the Catholic Education Flanders organization and contributed to designing the English curricula for secondary education.
