Image Conference: The Schedule
The two-day schedule for The Image Conference '19 is an eclectic array of plenaries and sessions dedicated to using images in the language classroom.
On Saturday, Kieran Donaghy and Nayr Ibrahim begin and end the day with provocative talks on the fifth skills of viewing (Donaghy) and children's pluralistic voices (Ibrahim). In between, there are 24 sessions offered over six breakout sessions, covering the areas of images, mental imagery, film video, and art.
Then, Saturday evening concludes with a Conference Dinner for all the speakers and delegates.
On Sunday, we jump right into more sessions - 16 in total - covering the areas above and virtual reality. Then, Hania Krystyna Bociek delivers the closing plenary focusing on global communication and national cultures. In between, there is a special GISIG Strand with two sessions focused on using images with migrant language learners which are followed by a forum exploring the concepts of migrant language instruction and images. A closing lunch and reception tops off this great conference.
