Stéphanie Brabant
A sudden (and quite overwhelming) infatuation with Freddie Mercury at age 14 was the beginning of Stéphanie’s obsession with the English language. She studied translation and Germanic languages in Brussels, then got a Master’s degree in English literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she also taught academic writing and intro to literary studies courses.
She has been a German and/or English instructor (ESL, ESP) in various institutions of higher education in Belgium, and is currently working at the Institut des langues vivantes of the UCL. While she never intended to become a teacher, she got CELTA certified in 2015 and has become much too interested in pedagogy to even consider stopping now.
